Time to Give Back

Once November rolls around, it’s time to really think about the holidays. And I’m not talking about presents. This is the time of year when people reflect on their last year and all the good things they have. And they think about how to give back.

So here is one of the ways I would like to give back…

Do you know someone who is trying to make ends meet and just is not able to do it? It could be someone out of work, a single parent, someone working more than one job just to get by, whoever.

Would this person love to have family portraits but cannot afford them?

I am donating a complete family portrait session with prints to someone you nominate. Send me an email and tell me their story. Tell me why they deserve a free family portrait session this holiday season.

Please do not tell me the story in comments.

I will announce the winner on December 13.

Back to the Excuses – Time…

Second to price, the biggest excuse people make for not getting family portraits taken is they don’t have time.

Time is something most of us think we don’t have enough of. We work, we take care of the house, and it seems like the kids have so many activities, we spend our time running from place to place.

What we need to remember is these are some of the best times we will have with our children. Most of us only have them around for 18 years before they are off to college and then off on their own. 18 years in the grand scheme of things is not that long.

We need to do whatever we can to remember those limited special years before they get away from us.

Family portraits preserve those times and memories forever. With technology always evolving, the images we create today will out last us and generations to come.

On average, a family portrait session takes about an hour. So if you have time to take the family out to dinner one evening, you have time for family portraits!

At IMB Images, we do a few things differently to avoid using up too much of your time:

We work by appointment only so your session starts at a specific time and when it is most convenient for you.
We consult with you before the session so we can plan your session and get exactly what you want in a minimal amount of time.
We can come to your home so you don’t have to pack everyone in the car. This way all your clothes and special personal props are close at hand too.

Don’t let time get in the way of creating portraits. You are only a family for a very short time. Cherish the moments.
